If you’ve worn the patch for over 6 hours and it hasn’t absorbed any white fluid, it could mean a few things. The pimple might not be “ripe” yet or may not have white fluid to absorb.

Sometimes the fluid is deeper under the skin and can take 1 to 3 days to come to the surface, with the patch helping to gently draw it out over time. In some cases, the patch may need better contact with the fluid, and some users find that gently popping or pricking the pimple can speed up the process. We recommend wearing the patch for 6 to 8 hours or until you see it has absorbed the fluid whichever comes first. If nothing is absorbed after that, it’s likely one of these reasons.

Because hydrocolloid attracts water and fluid, ClearPatch works best on pimples that have come to a head meaning you can see white fluid trapped inside. If your patch didn’t change from clear to opaque white, it’s likely that the pimple wasn’t “mature” enough or wasn’t the right type of blemish.
